What to Bring to Your Road Test

Bring your valid license/permit, a roadworthy car with insurance and registration, and any required documents.

Copy of Your Auto Insurance

  • Your Texas Learner's License (permit)
  • Parent/Guardian with a Current Driver's License
  • 32-hours Teen Course Completion Certificate (DE-964 form or parent-taught form certificate)
  • Verification of Enrollment (VOE)  (You can get this form at your high school attendance office.)
  • Texas Impact Certificate Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD)
  • Completed 30 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Log

DPS-Authorized Road Tests

We offer testing options for teens and adults. Choose to take the test in your vehicle or ours. The DPS Road Skills Test will be conducted by a state-certified examiner at Learn 2 Drive Academy. The test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To obtain your driver's license card, you must still appear in person at a Department of Public Safety Office location.
